The Ohio Dairy Farmers website features a very large collection
of facts, videos, and stories about Ohio Dairy Farms. The website
has a consumer focus and features a unique scrap-book
design.
The client wanted to utilize the same design team that they had
used previously for the print side of the campaign. They provided
us with Photoshop images of exactly how they wanted the website to
look on each page. We took the project from there, slicing the
comps into web-compatible images and developing the site with the
provided content to match the comps. This is a great example of how
we can work with the client, and their own resources to acheive the
exact look and feel that they want.
To acheive the desired scrap-booking design, the site required
an extensive amount of overlapping images, utilizing transparency
and a lot of CSS to maximize the resource re-useability between
pages.
We also developed several custom AJAX / JavaScript based pages
to encourage expoloration of the many pages within the site. Two
great exmaples would be the Meet Ohio Dairy Families page which picks five
families at random every page load, and the map view which allows an easy way to find
families based on their location. We also developed a custom AJAX
based e-card system for the site as a fun option to
encourage social sharing.
